	I walked several blocks, ~~probing~~ the memories of Son, trying to match up what he had seen with the streets I was walking. Within a few minutes I had found the run down dive I was looking for, known locally as the Gato Pelado. The reek of old beer, sweat and sex hung around the building. I could see folks coming out and going in. Bikers, hookers, drug dealers. I didn't know their names, but my time on the streets had allowed me to read their dress and behavior like many can read a book.		I walked several blocks, slipping into the memories of Son. Feeling his personality in the memories is like stepping into warm oil, not bad until you moved in them to realize that the filth wouldn't rub off easily. I began trying to match up what he had seen with the streets I was walking. Within a few minutes I had found the run down dive I was looking for, known locally as the Gato Pelado. 			I shifted my body posture, my gait. I was no longer trying to blend, now I wanted to be the baddest shark on the block. I brought my head up, and put a grim smile on my face. I puffed my chest out, and moved with the solid assurance of one who would kill at the slightest provocation. My beast snarled to the top of my mind, and it's rage and anger boiled off me in waves. Mortals moved aside, careful not to touch me. Adding the ultimate piece to my aura was the moment I opened my soul to the cold of the grave, allowing the emptiness of oblivion fill me, completing the solidity of my personality wall.

			Up the stairs two at a time, my hands checking the placement of my knives, guns, etc. I could feel movement in the rooms nearby, but felt it only peripherally, none of it mattered to the monster in me. The reek of old booze, human sweat, and the hollow tangy iron of rotted blood filled the corridor. I could feel the subtle push of some personality ahead. Another beast in movement. To my right.

			I knocked, waited a couple beats and opened the door.

When I ran from Denver with the Feds half a step behind me the girls couldn't keep up. They got picked up by the FBI and detained. I couldn't help them, and they were essentially safe, so I didn't go back for them. I guess it was my loyalty that was questionable.
