			So the next night was pretty normal. Except that I had a couple hundred statues on the front lawn. I'm gonna need a bigger place. On the up side, the stable boy has enough wit to see what's necessary, and has sort of confirmed the Arabian as mine. Meanwhile, after evening whatnot, Songul showed up at the house and we had a few discussions about art and she was concerned about a scroll she got and a feeling she had. I got a similar scroll, but much cooler. Mostly it was an invite to meet up for a processional to the Colosseum for a night of games. Good times to be had by all, formal-ish attire requested. Also, apparently we'd somehow already altered history. If I had to guess, Eadwulf; since he'd already killed someone. But at the same time, we've all done a few things, and the little things are adding up. We may have tapped a tipping point. Note to self, design sigil for communications. I do recall being a little snooty about scrolls and whatnot at one point, but that's going to be the main medium of communication for the next several centuries. And well, when in Rome...

			But that's a side note; having gotten prepped for the evening, Songul was lacking a horse. Sheesh. Carriage was not happening on immediate notice, and besides, carriages in this age...suck. Shocks and leaf springs. Anyway, I was kind enough to let Songul take the saddle while I stood up directly behind and rode Shadowfax standing. (Why yes, I did name my horse after the lord of all horses, why do you ask?) And...while we weren't accosted, we were looked at. I mean, we were very well-dressed, and out after dusk, so it was a thing. At the bridge, the rest of the Toreador were gathered so that we could all travel as a group. After discretely dropping Songul off with the rest of the Brujah, we made our way into the Colosseum 4th in line, banners and beauty and glamor. Because we are that badass. For tonight is Eadwulfs' night, and for his night he was honored with games. Achard was quite proud of what he'd put on, with battles of men against against beasts and other things later. On the one hand, sure it's spectacle that hasn't been seen in 5 centuries and there's a certain cachet with it. But at the same time, kinda squicky. We did have good seats though, and our Senator and his sire were both in attendance. The down side of a castrato senator - very much sheltered in life, and while worthy of unlife, he's still apparently getting used to the uglier sides of existence. The Penguin (Aka Carmelia, his sire and I should not think the Penguin too loud) is very much doting and sheltering, and my being here may have upset the education timetable. (Seriously, at one point in the night she was singing a lullaby to him. Oi.) Alard and Burkhart were also there and making doofy looks toward the Lasombra section - I have an uncomfortable feeling they're getting close to the end of the time with their respective entrancements. What to do about that it going to be a question indeed.

			So, the games were opened, and the Brujah PETA force immediately had a snit. At least one walked out, and, well, given further looks, it's quite possible that this whole night was dual-purposed, showing the glory of Rome and the dominance of the Ventrue at the same time. Still, it was a nice night, velvet cushions in the section and oranges with cloves in case battles got too overwhelming for our senses. Tonights' lesson was Animal Blood: Tasty Treat or Tacky? In particular, lions' blood, as the pregame show was condemned criminals vs lions. I didn't wonder if they were Christians, because, well...it seemed a light dig at the senators of the rose. Buuuut I didn't mention it. Hopefully that got picked up on their own because if I have to guide those two through everything? Eeeesh. Afterward, me and the brothers retired downstairs for a cup while the field crew got rid of the worst of the wreck, and they kinda lost themselves in the mane and whatnot. I don't blame them, it was a rather beautiful animal. But, in a vain hope, I snagged the heart of the lion for Lino. He was rather discrete and I think he legit blushed after drinking. Well, at least he is a vampire. After that, the night progressed to elephants and people trained to kill elephants. Side note, also met a hideous nosferatu...I think? mighta been Trogloditya, but the lighting was bad and I had zero desire to look too closely. I did mention that I'd saved the liver for her(?), and the offer was deemed acceptable.

			And back to round 2, which featured elephants. Good times, and I snagged some ivory from the tusk for the sword-hilt. Awww. Yeah. This is gonna be a good sword. After that, things proceeded apace, and I was a helpful soul to Lino, but did crosscheck to make sure that the lessons weren't running afoul of whatever the penguin wanted to impart. Her eyes and manner pleaded with me to be gentle, as he is just a boy. If he is, he's a boy in deep. Hopefully his mother can speak with him telepathically, so that he doesn't look like a total doof during councils. Meanwhile there was one other thing I noticed, a definite malkavian offering absolution and sacrements to the condemned in the form of...blood. His, to be precise. This may not end well.

			The finale of the night was what Achard probably considered a subtle dig at the Brujah, a re-enactment of the third Battle of Carthage. Annnd cue one of the Brujah totally losing their shit and spewing profane words that impressed the hell out of me. Girl had a potty mouth and a half, but fortuantely a couple of her fellows chilled her out. During that brief mention, I clued in Lino as to the significance of this, and then sat back to watch the wreckage of condemned men in Carthaginian garb to face trained mercenaries wearing the legion goodies. Now, Songul wasn't being subtle, but neither was Achard really; Songul Entranced the hell out of one of faux-legions leaders and he and about half the crew came toward her. And that allowed the ghouled condemned a nice opening to shred roman flank.

			At that point, I wanted to confirm a point of history I was fuzzy on, and so I called out to the good lord Achard a simple question inquiring as to whether the Romans were supposed to win this thing or what. Achard took exception to my line of inquiry, and proceeded to attempt to right history himself. (Okay, he frenzied and totally went bugfuck on everyone on the arena floor. I do believe he called us all fucking ingrates.) That kinda ended the party, however Eletria was highly amused with me, moreso when I tried to play the unlettered equestrian. We all made our mildly amused selves back to the quadrilateral palace, where Eadwulf was further feted and proferred gifts and so forth. Politeness dictated that we not speak, because, well, I did kinda sorta set Achard off. That said, a delicate fistbump for Songul was not out of order. And some discrete acclaim for myself for my role, because, well, not many people like Achard. Eadwulf was able to secure passage to the crypts, where that damnable box lies, which is sooooo gonna be good.

			Finally, Songuls festivities. Really, the high point of the one was the fact that she was given Senatorship of the Brujah. Ho. Lee. Shit. That's gonna leave a taste in Achards' mouth. But Now we roll to other things, securing the transtiber - hopefully Frick and Frack have graffiti'd the request to the rat king so we can get a deal with the orphans going. And then we can proceed to the crypts in safety and retrieve what we need to interruptus ritualis.

But, I was able to impose a bit to educate my brothers because...welllll...their girlfriend isn't going to be their girlfriend forever, and the pin on that grenade wiggled a bit when they saw Eletria and drooled a bit. Eletria knows there's more to me then I'm admitting, based on her questions and my dodges. She does like my blue-collar ascetic a bit, I hope - or at least my describing the brothers as running dick-first into a beehive made her chuckle. 			Waking up, and...I really need to walk my Road further, as my brothers woke up before me and took both of the good horses, leaving me with the mighty AMC Pacer nag. Minor things in play, I sent my squire with a silver to hire a barber-surgeon to look after the ruffians who provided me and the brothers with light sport the other night. I gotta flip them to my side, and start making the place mine bit by bit. Next move, discuss things with the young apprentice stable-boy; get him to work brushing out the Pacer and making it worth my damn time - note to self, put the fear of god into the master of the stables and have him teach the boy before he croaks from alcoholism. The Pacer was rough, handled like a horror, but it did look good enough to be a horse. And then shit got weird. I swear, I will not have a nights' peace until I get the Orphans sorted. They attacked with something, and I ripped through the streets on the horse which was inclined to pay attention once I was motivational enough. However, we just missed a jump and then the battle was joined just long enough for me to hit once and get the shit out of there on foot because the bastards managed to kill my horse. That's not going to be fun. I did want to check on my companions, however. I found Eadwulf by following the scream and fighting sounds. He'd done his thing and I was basically Legolas-hopping from place to place to get to the cleaner streets. (Note to self, get a crew to fix the goddamn sewers.)

			After that, there was some blood spent and...I needed new clothes, as someone tried staking me. (Note to self 2; until this mess is sorted, spend some time with rituals so I don't get staked easily.) Off to the fight club, where Eadwulf got into a fight and I found several ladies of the evening willing to have a go with a young man. Ahem. Also also, working on getting the business prospects going, as brothels are still legitimate to a degree. With that, off to the Quadrilateral to be awesome and me. Not gonna lie, it was interesting to be the center of attention.

			I was greeted with the Toreador Senator, Lino, and a group of boys singing a delightful song that...well, it moved me. And then when the senator joined in, there were a few dry eyes in the house. Not many. My brothers were lost to themselves, and even the ceaser was moist in the eyes. A damn good song. Definitely not Queen, but Freddie woulda fit right in. With that in mind, the review passed. I mentioned my brief woes of the evening to the Caesar, and he gave me a brilliant white Arabian stallion. The thought of kissing the man briefly crossed my mind. And a saddle was promptly given, and then I took it for a test ride. He handles, reins, everything. Second only to my horse at the pageant. This...is an upgrade. And if my brothers try to take him out without me, I will be miffed. The Ventrue Senator mentioned that I had shown interest in statuary, and we all retired to the Colosseum - aka his fortress. Where I was presented with every freaking statue in the undersection. Ho. Ley. Fuck. The Muse of Sculpture from Constantinople was in town and was rather, well...from what I could see, it looked like he'd been a pinata for a kids' party and they were all armed with the ugly stick. But he was quite interested, and having made arrangements to have them delivered to my manse tomorrow, (note to self 3; warn the servants) I saw one that's destined for the Louvre, and in a fit of Toreador, I touched its' spirit. Annnd wow. It was commissioned by Helena, worked by a master artisan, and a copy of a bronze.

			When I came back, all hell hadn't quite broken loose but the torches were out. I don't think my brothers were responsible, but...we'll table the question for later. Meanwhile, the underbelly of this joint is creepy. For real. Lino was not having a good time, as he was seeing thinks and shrieking like a girl. He's a castrati figurehead, whatcha gonna do? He did hide behind me, and, well...hell, it's not the first time I've been in utter darkness. So...I led him out, found Godiva, and we got out. Unfortunately a servant did apparently fall to his death somehow, but. Everyones' got problems. So having retired to someplace with light, more surprise was in store. Iulus Rufus Nostio, former gladiator, smith extraordinaire, and all-around wow had some blades for me. I got one. A nice falchion, and we talked bout the specs. It's gonna look goooooood when we're done. And then the Caesar retired for the night, leaving the rest of us to go to the final stop. Lady Eletria of Sparta, subject of the statue, and also my older sister after a fashion. My much, much older sister.

			So conversation was had and light entertainment - with that in mind, there was roundabout discussion, and some consideration. Eventually I do need to figure out who is working Lino, and make sure he's on the right track. Also, Constantinople might be a destination - Michael...seems to have a cult of personality. Although to be quite honest, he's unfathomably ancient, and what might be delusions of grandeur in others is him just going "Yep, I'm me." But the way Paul (Muse of Sculpture) talked about him, it's like Michael has something going on. And it's gonna crater spectacularly in a century-ish, but I'm not gonna Debbie Downer him.

Songul decided to put a prompt beatdown on the rocks...and won. Brujah are scary sometimes, but that's another story. The senator was effusive in his praise, and daaamn did he never miss meals when he was eating food. We got back to the palace in quick order, and well...there's gonna be some discussion after I checked the rock and apparently the one who wrecked the escape route was the senators' vampiric brother. I'mma let Eadwulf deal with that. It's a Ventrue pissing match at this point, which means it's not my problem until it becomes my problem. I got my own cleanups to deal with, and there's several more nights of festivities afoot. I'm thinking orange and blue for my "night". 			So. After that wildness, it was time to sleep and wake up. My squire is picking up Italian, as are my two...servants? Drinking buddies? Guys. Frick and Frack that I picked up in Scandinavia. There's concern in my new household on account of I've only been here 3 nights and I'm already best friends with the lord of the manse. And then there's my brothers who haven't perfected the art of faking out through meals. That's a ripe slice of annoyance, especially when Alard is taking a litttle blood from a few of the daughters here and there after the meal. Dinner was awkward, mainly because I was the only one of the three of us eating, and now I've successfully managed to get the head of the house bound to me. Next stop, the lady of the manor, and then we can work longterm. Its' Godiva's party tonight, so I think I can be fashionably late; we do need to survey the Colosseum for statuary - seriously, we gotta shape the place up and make it respectable. Unfortunately, some family or another has apparently claimed the place, and the statue of Helios is damned potent. Seriously, the sun god is a schmuck. Justsayin.

			Once there, we made the rounds, and I was briefly distracted by the promise of something delicious. Annnnd then my siblings Presenced the hell out of Veronica - aka the Princes' childe. And being familiar with it, they've done it in...a bad way. When that wears off, she is going to be in a state of high pissoff. And she's a Lasombra. And 6th generation, if my math is right. I would like to talk to Helen for...a minute. I'm doing her job, mostly because I have a keen sense of self-preservation, but at the same time I can't keep these two from running dick-first into every goddamn beehive in Rome. Seriously, it's like their superpower. On the up side, since the Lady Veronica is a Lasombra, we've got a least a century before the axe falls. But it's still best to get out ahead of that shit. Meet and greet, and holy shit a passel of badass shadow-walked into the room.

			For real, the group that came in to celebrate Godivas' entrance into the fam was impressive. And the headliner, only a year under the shadow - Gratiano him-fuckin-self. Seriously, he's a peacock and struttin'. Because, well...he's Gratiano. Not gonna lie, being embraced by Lasombra is a nice thing to have, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, reminds me of...me.

			I hate 'im, as the good Doc Holliday said. Although at this point, he hasn't done anything untoward, but he does bear watching. So, while Eadwulf was preparing dinner via thaumaturgy (Don't ask me, I only have an interest in it where it intersects with swords) the collective brought out...chess. With people. Admittedly it wasn't done in 5 minutes, but eventually it happened. There was a little conversation between me and few others as concerns my own lineage, and well...I mighta demurred a bit. But once the games were going, I sought out the Senator of the Toreador and politely laid out the situation of "yeah, we got 3 week-old kindred here, and at least two of them might need some coachin' up." Annnd during the discussion, I rather had a bit of a epiphany, in that the Senator is a figurehead. Greeeeeeeat. Which means I have to figure out who he actually defers to and decide if I like that arrangement. Annnd it's quite possible that it's on my own ass to teach them more and faster. There are not enough hours. Meanwhile, Gratiano is picking up chess rather quickly and I think he likes it. Even though he lost several games, still. He'll pick it up. I have that feeling.

			And the final guest made Godiva squee. I think. I mean I've only heard stories, but Troglodytia not only knows her necromancies, she is flat-out fuhugly. She made an offer of tutelage to Godiva, and that was gratefully accepted. Which, hey, that's a thing. However, having the Senator discretely hide behind me was a most annoying compliment.

	With that in mind, I have a curious thought that I'm going to have to massage around the brainpan a bit. I have a family in the house, that will eventually need to be subsumed or evicted. They're cloth merchants, and so I can certainly see them as useful It's going to require time, but I think I may want to turn them into ghouls, perhaps even a revenant family? Although I may have to be careful with my considerations, they do seem like they could be useful. I think some visits to the wine cellars are in order soon. They're cloth merchants, and so I can certainly see them as useful It's going to require time, but I think I may want to turn them into ghouls, perhaps even a revenant family? 			== Roman Festival Nights ==

			So, the next few nights were busy. My erstwhile brothers Alard and Burkhart woke up and wrecked the livestock, and I kept my squire squiring. Then hunting, reacquainting themselves with all the latest news and Rome happening, and a festival happening shortly. Clothes, check. Funding, check. And I'm muscling in on some other turf, as my taking over the smuggling in the docks and the docks proper is gonna raise eyebrows. It's the Yakuza in Rio all over again. My noble brothers had some qualms about a shakedown, but their precarious financial state was made clear. Meanwhile, I've nicely gotten into the good graces of the family I'm sharing a villa with - ghouling the patriarch is step one; and then we'll go from there and see about possibly getting some revenants going. A hint to invest in sailcloth, and we'll be well and truly setting our financial stability. Check and check. Meanwhile, the transtiberum is well overcrowded at this point. When my brothers were luggage, not a problem. Now that they're up and about and noble...an issue of economy presents itself. I may have to send them to Constantinople or even the Holy Lands, or if they choose to stay, they can assist in encouraging others to find a new home.

			Then came the first night of the festival of our entry. I and my brothers were fashionably attired, and presented ourselves to Constantius, and I was very much effusive in praise. The co-caeser Achard who had his little puppy come at me and wreck my night? Ehhhh, not so much. And there was a slight delight as my brothers gave a similar slight. Achard was pissed, but in fairness, he was the one who let Radobod off the leash. So I got that going for me.

			Then I finally got to catch up With Songul, who gave me a little warning about the blood chalice behind Door Number Two. It's nice that she worries about me, and we had a nice moment of sibling rivalry back and forth, and then Burkhart sidled in and offered to dance with Songul. Him I trust to dance with my sister and I hope he knows that's a big deal. Me and Alard retired to have a drink, and Songul wasn't lying. It was good, and Alard has not a lot of control. He was two up on me in a heartbeat, and I finally intervened to learn to savor. Which was good.

			After that, a little move over to an architect with scale models of his works. It was unholy good craftsmanship for the age, and I found myself quite lost in it. Too lost, apparently, as I caught an elbow and was brought back. The damn thing was beautiful and I was in it. I may have to circle back to this, and then look to find some statues from the Colosseum. But that can wait for...probably winter.

			With that in mind, I have a curious thought that I'm going to have to massage around the brainpan a bit. I have a family in the house, that will eventually need to be subsumed or evicted. They're c;loth merchants, and so I can certainly see them as useful It's going to require time, but I think I may want to turn them into ghouls, perhaps even a revenant family? Although I may have to be careful with my considerations, they do seem like they could be useful. I think some visits to the wine cellars are in order soon

			So With Katze and Berengar still safely in their crates, other stuff needed to be attended to. To wit, that there be festivities to be held in our honor, as we are all of a relatively notable lineage. Songul doesn't really want to go into what happened with her pops, which I mean I'm not gonna complain about it. Maybe next year.

			Also, second order of business, housing. Everyones' getting digs in the transtiber, go fig. As long as we can mutually support when shit hits and ride out the next century-ish, we're good. So Godiva is taking over Ceasers' gardens (Good choice) and I'm taking over a currently lived-in location, the Villa Clodia. Fortunately, the lord of the manor is a merchant of cloth, which I totally need. Time for the good clothes, and I may find a few statues for my foyer. And I'll need to paint them.

			The next night was rather disappointing overall. We did have to track some things down about the mugging/message interception that Eadwulf stumbled upon, so we rented horses and set out for the monastery that presumably held his body so that Godiva could defile the holy man. (Well, work her art upon. Defile is an ugly word.) About halfway there, we got jumped. Flaming arrows inbound, and good times were had by all. My electrified sword did good work, Eadwulf took on about half of them (let's not kid ourselves, he's a viking blood wizard, and they cheat), and in the midst of it all I recalled some trivia that early monasteries did support themselves through banditry. Which may explain the Crusades in some small part, but I digress. My Auspex wasn't awesome, but it saw enough that there were 4 more - I do miss the days when I didn't have to shout this information. We made short work of them, and Songul lost her horse somehow. Though she did acquit herself well as the sister of Cengiz the Master Horseman (Or as the Romans now know me Archippus Tiberum.)

			So, having looked at everything, and gotten settled in the Princes' palace (note to self, "augustus" is the proper term) And kinda gotten a feel for the joint (Note to self 2, teach these godless Italians Italian) I was able to get a quick look at my new charge. Unfortunately, he may have had a rougher day then me, so he just sacked the hell out as soon as he sat down. On to side project 1, refinishing a dead noggin. I mean the skin and all that came away nicely enough, but at the same time, there was a brain to deal with. Off to Godiva, where I got skullcap 101, and then settled the rest in a vat of vinegar to cleanse it. Eventually, it's gonna be good, but right now I'm straight suffering for art. Next night, time to establish some digs. Talking to the Augustus was pretyt quick, and there were a few plces I looked at, but I eventually settled on the Transtiberum area. One oath of fealty ans some whoooo-mama good blood from Augustus and I was set. Eadwulf had some adventures, and was heading that way, so we left the palace complex and went to pick up some dead bodies.

			Fun can be had, and I swear I am gonna do the tourist thing; but at the same time being a tourist is something you shouldn't do while packing 3 or 4 dead bodies in a cart. There's still statues at the Colosseum, I may want to make a deal to snag a couple of those for my haven. But that can happen later. For now, stuff needs to happen. Looking around and eventually found some interesting things in my new domain.

			First off, my area is...blue collar-bordering on the project. But it is very dock-heavy, with some serious industry and labor. I can make this work. The problem is it's also attracting the riff-raff. Not good. I may have to do something about that.

			Second issue, shenanigans are approaching; I discovered this while we were hauling bodies. Apparently the memo didn't get passed around that the turf was claimed, and someone purporting to be the sheriff said I needed to clear out. I refused on account of I Just Paid For This. A discussion ensued, and while it wasn't the fastest beatdown I'd ever received, it was definitely top 5. I woke up to Eadwulf slapping me around a little, and then we had to get back at it. Also, there's someone called the rat king who's apparently not a fan of the ruling party or something, and he mostly saved our asses. Good, because I didn't want to kill or die on my second night in Rome. Kinda puts a damper on sightseeing, for the moment at least.
