As a result, Cipher sees nothing wrong with taking the research that happens in his chantry for his own. This has led to Seth feeling put down and used. Cipher has taken his research and used it to promote himself. Natasha, being more used to men being unfair, has simply worked harder to keep most of her research hidden from the Professor, except what she wants him to see. The professor is aware that his childer are not being fully truthful with him about their research, and simply waits for finished products now.

			The embrace of Czere Ubrig created an odd dynamic in the chantry. Cipher introduced him to the Prince, and then banned him from leaving the chantry house. Cipher treats Ubrig like a favored son in the eyes of Seth. Mistakes that the stupid American made seemed to be glossed over by their master. At first the frustration of Seth made Czere interesting to Natasha. Over time she found his ineptitude around her beauty endearing. One night Natasha became aware that Czere had never been given the Cup. Since then she has avoided the Professor so he would not glean from her what she knows. She is sure that if he knew, she would meet with an accident.
