			Conquest of Dacia (101–106 AD):
			The most direct Roman expansion into the Carpathian region occurred during Trajan’s Dacian Wars (101–102 AD and 105–106 AD). Emperor Trajan launched campaigns to subdue the Dacian kingdom under King Decebalus, which controlled the area around the Carpathian Mountains, including parts of modern Romania.
