	'''Introduction:'''		'''Introduction:''' The Bubasti, also known as Shadowcats, are a tribe of werecats in the World of Darkness setting. They are mystics of catkind, shy and secretive but among the most social of the Bastet, often working closely with one another. The Bubasti were cursed by the ancient vampire deity Set, which ties their lives to the soils of Khem, their ancestral home. If all of the Bubasti of a given generation leave Egypt, that generation will be the last.

			The Bubasti trace their origins back to Cymaa, the original guardian of the lands of Khem by the grace of Luna, and are kin to the great Kyphur cats. After the arrival of Osiris and the vampire Set, the Bubasti joined the Osirian League and fought against the spawns of Set.

			The followers of Set captured and ghouled the original Kinfolk of the Bubasti, leading to a curse of eternal hunger for both food and secrets. This has forced the Bubasti to breed with lesser cats, such as servals and caracals, and to occasionally partake in deals with the Followers of Set to see their ancestors or even mate with them.

			The Bubasti are determined to free their ancestors and maintain their focus on guarding the mystics who walk among humans, ensuring they do not fall to the temptations of Asura. They have had to change their focus to survive, becoming scholars and researchers, constantly working behind the scenes to sabotage the darker forces in the world through indirect means.

			Kyphur cats: The feline Kinfolk of the Bubasti, thought to be extinct except for a few kept as pets by the followers of Set. These cats have become somewhat disfigured due to millennia of inbreeding and feeding on vampiric blood.
