As opposition to Esprit. Humour is not very liked in the Cour, even if some can, in private, throw some words of humour. The first difference between Esprit and Humour is their nationality: Humour is typicaly british while Esprit is from the 17th to 19th century France. But the main difference bewteen them is that Humour makes laugh about no one in particular, while Esprit is always nasty, malicious, cutting and/or vicious against someone. To answer a &amp;quot;Trait d&amp;#039;Esprit&amp;quot; with a &amp;quot;Mot d&amp;#039;Humour&amp;quot; is considered as a surrender, most of the time a shameful one, But sometimes honorable if the &amp;quot;Mot d&amp;#039;Humour&amp;quot; was particularly successful. In very rare occasions, the &amp;quot;Mot d&amp;#039;Humour&amp;quot; can eclispe the attacker, by undermeaning: &amp;quot;You&amp;#039;re under my standarts to bother to counterattack you...
