This is a modest ale house that has been in existence for nearly two hundred years. It has done very well over time, and enabled the owners to spread out and buy other ale houses to sell their products at. This is an old building, but very well kept up and maintained. [[Garlands Brothers Brewery]] started here, and has since expanded. The important people of the city come here to drink, as Thomas Garland is a well to do man of the city, giving regular contributions to the city council and magistrates so that there is never an issue around his license.

Garlands on High Street has a well stocked ale selection, several very good whiskeys, and a growing stock of fruit wines.
