Paris

Here are described the hottest spots of Paris, along with a rating. A rating of 3 (***) means that only Status *** Kindred can come here at will. Most others will have to receive a formal invitation, of accompany an Elder of enough Status. Note that the Toreador and the Daughters of Cacophony are considered to have one bonus point in this case, that the Bâtards's natural malus apply fully there, and that the Masques and the Veilleurs have no such limitation (then can go almost everywhere it pleases them, no matter the Clan!)

A note: The french translation of Elysium is Elysée. Remember about the Champs Elysées?...

Club Elysée (Atrium/Elysium ****)

This Nightclub in the Champs Elysées is one of the more beautiful place of Paris, if not the hotest. There, Arnaud is the master, as the Keeper of the Elysium. The Club Elysée is a double Elysium. The half the building (that is the most accessible parts) is considered the Atrium, that is the Elysium where anyone arriving in Paris must go and meet the Keeper of the Elysium to arrange a meeting with the Prince. But the other half of the building is still an Elysium, but is, unless exception (that is, formal invitation) limited to Status **** Elders, or more. There the most chic of the Soirées Parisiennes happen, and there Arnaud often uncover his latest discovery in the art of fashion.

Atrium:

The principal room (the dance room) is considered an Atrium. All the Kine working there were Dominated to forget every strange event there (so a black haired man with fangs become a black haired man), but for the Ghouls, led by the Majordomo, a two hundred years-old man who knows more about Kindred ettiquette than most Ancillae, and who is able to view the aura of others.

Of course, all Ghouls drink the Vitae of Arnaud, wear high-class clothes (by Arnaud, of course), and report only to the Keeper of the Elysium.

Elysée (Elysium ****)

This room was modified by Arnaud. One can reach it by passing through a corridor guarded by a ghoul and a discreet camera. Stairs lead to the lower level where a modulable theater can be modified enough to support a theater performance, modeling, a concert, etc..

Arnaud shows his annual new models here, and some fashion artists sometimes unknowingly show their creation to members of the Toreador...

Louvre (Elysium *)

In the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, this palace was converted into a museum in the 1789 Revolution, and became since one of the greatests (if not the greatest museum in the world). The Louvre was recently renoved (Project: Grand Louvre), and a glass pyramid, as well as light effects, were added, and give to it an impression of eternity that goes well with its history.

In the World of Darkness, François Villon, Prince of Paris and France, owns the Louvre. It is, of course, an Elysium. Bunkers were built under the Louvre where Chefs d'Oeuvres can be protected, even in the case of a nuclear strike. Of course, Villon and his friends make a great use of those constructions, as the Masques have their headquarters in the Louvre. Last but not least, the Louvre seems ... alive to those with high sensibility (and/or Auspex), and some fear it is haunted... Villon seem to no give a damn (it is his palace, after all!), and indeed, when in his presence, this eerie feeling seem to disappear somewhat...

While the public parts of the Louvre is officially open to all the Kindred, the other parts are simply forbidden to anyone (unless grave exception, or for Toreador or Daughters of Cacophony!). Only on sundays can almost anyone come here to tell the Prince of her grievances. The other days, one wanting to bother the Prince must have a good reason for that. Tuesday, the Louvre is closed, and the night is for the Kindred.

Museum (Elysium *)

The Museum is officially open the monday and the wenesday until 10.00 pm. Everyone, Kine or Kindred, can visit it as any ordinary mortal. After, the subtly Dominated guardians make sure no one but known Kindred can remain. It is then, considered a (*) Elysium.

It is rumored some Toreador Antitribu have been authorized to visit some Museums of Paris, including the Louvre. Of course, they are always under scrutiny.

Palais (Elysium ***)

These parts are strictly forbidden to non Elders (i.e.: Less than Status *** Kindred). With the authorization of Villon, sometimes Soirées are given there, to present new artwork. But most of the time, the Toreador gather there to discuss the Clan's politics.

Here, one can find artwork created by Kindred, some Kindred archeological objects, as well as everything similar that would raise too much questions from mortal Archeologists.

Champs Elysées (Elysium *)

This great Avenue can be seen as one of the greatests (if not the greatest) Elysium in the world. Because of its nightlife, and because of the tourists. The Champs Elysées Elysium start at the western end of the Grand Louvre, by the Jardins des Tuileries, continues by the Place de la Concorde (also known as the Place de la Republique, where Louis the 16th and others were executed by the Guillotine, and where the Louksor Obelisk was erected in 1836), continues, then, by the Champs Elysée Avenue til the place de l'Etoile in the middle of which is the Arc de Triomphe.

Since the creation of the Arche de la Defense, there are discussions within the Toreador Clan to decide if the Elysium should or not be extended until then.

For the Kindred, this is an elysium were feeding is forbidden, but hunting is not. That is, for Casanova Kindred. So, a Kine can be charmed outside of the Elysium, and feed upon after...
