Naga Raja Master Jagdish.jpg

Sobriquet: The Lord of the World, a title given to him by his unliving siblings for his ability to pass as one of the living.

Appearance: Master Jagdish is a dark skinned Indian man who appears to be in his late forties or early fifties. He stands just over six-feet tall and probably weighs a little less than two-hundred pounds. Physically he superbly fit for his apparent age, with little or no detectable body fat. Though obviously quite lean, there is nothing skeletal about this master. Rather he could easily walk the streets of an Indian or Middle-eastern city without attracting very much attention. He wears his long dark hair wild, almost dreaded, while his thick mustaches and beard are an untamed smoky grey. When performing rituals he wears the customary white of eastern funerary tradition, but on the streets of the modern world, he generally wears loose black shirts with long-sleeves, black trunks and either goes barefoot or wears simple leather sandals. He blends in easily with the Ahgoris who are Hindu cannibal monks, as he often smears his face with human ash and wears jewelry of human bone. It is the eyes of Jagdish that draw unwanted attention, for both his eyes are pale and covered by milky cataracts, not that it seems to impede his vision in any way. In order to stave off stares and undesired questions, he has recently taken to wearing dark sunglasses or if in primitive areas, he wears a dark strip of cloth over his eyes and pretends to be blind.

Behavior: The master is as calm as still water and his disposition is chilling by human standards for he has witness over three millennia of human suffering and death. As such, he no longer sees mortals as people, rather they are simply the current vessels of reincarnated souls, and its is the souls that interest Jagdish. Often he finds the flesh to be a bother in communing with the eternal and in his hunger he strips away the annoying meat to get to the spirit, though he can be tempted by the offer of human bone-marrow or the delicacies of properly prepared sweet breads. In private he regularly communes with the dead as he travels with a circle of like-minded wraiths who keep him company and aid him is his endeavors. He travels often, rarely staying in one place for long and he uses funeral grounds and abandoned temples as way-stations on his dark sojourns. To those initiated into the dark truths of the world, he can be a companionable conversationalist, often serving for a short time as an adviser or mentor. But to the rest of the world, Jagdish portrays himself as a mute hermit, homeless vagabond or harmless madman. Few would credit him with proficiency, let alone mastery of dozens of living languages and an equal number of dead tongues. However, regardless of where he goes, there are always servants and allies waiting to aid Jagdish, for he is indeed, the master of the world.

History:

Recent Events: Master Jagdish has received word that his youngest progeny has need of him, so he has set aside his traveling preferences and has booked passage upon the Midnight Express bound for Beirut. Jagdish feels a flicker of excitement at this unaccustomed conveyance and truly hopes his progeny has unearthed one of the ancient dead, for that would make the journey a worthy one. And despite his best efforts, he feels a swell of pride for his neonatal spawn; for which of his sibling's whelps conjoined with the dead so quickly and efficiently?
