Catoptromancy
Description: This simple ritual, enchants an everyday mirror to reflect the spirits of the dead for one night.
Origin: Benesj Cherno
Ingredients: An everyday mirror, a human tallow candle and a corpse.
Casting: The necromancer holds an everyday mirror over the face of the corpse for fifteen minutes, while he speaks a litany of invocation to the recently departed individual requesting aid in seeing the forms of other ghosts.
System: The player rolls Intelligence + Rituals at a difficulty of four (4). Each success equates to one scene in which the necromancer can see the reflections of ghosts, not the Underworld, in the mirror.
References: A good parallel would be “The Ritual of the Smoking Mirror”, this ritual is of Pisanob derivation and can be found in the new Clan-book Giovanni - pg.71. The smoking mirror is actually a level one ritual with several effects depending on your needs and like almost all Giovanni necromancy, broken.
