Introduction

The Bermondsey Trio are a coterie, but they are not friends, nor do they have a great deal in common. In fact they have only two things in common, the first is survival, there is strength in numbers and London is a very dangerous city. The second thing is familiarity. Each member of the Trio was born in or lived and died in Bermondsey or in the nearby area. This familiarity also applies to the age in which they lived and the world each knew at the moment of the Embrace. For these reasons they have far more in common than they have with any vampire not Embraced in the Sixteenth or Seventeenth centuries.

The Trio have come to a understanding and jealously guard their individual and collective territory as part of their alliance. It does not matter that mortal London is no longer organized by parishes, at the time of their agreement in the middle seventeenth century the parish system was long established, and it is by the parishes that the Trio organize their individual domain and their collective territory. Other vampires have learned to respect their claims and Mithras long ago granted them their rights for the lip service they gave at that time. Today, the dawn of the Twentieth century, their claims are bound by age and tradition and occasionally reinforced by ugly examples.

The domain of Bermondsey is divided into three lesser domains that each of the Trio maintain as personal hunting grounds, the territories are sacrosanct and no other member of the Trio would think of hunting there without permission. The west end of Bermondsey include the parishes of St.John, St.Olave, St.Thomas and the western most portion of West Bermondsey are the domain of Agnes Shell the Nosferatu. Agnes is perhaps the most involved of the Trio in mortal affairs and has great influence over mortal events in her domain. She is known for her benevolence to both mortals and to her fellow Kindred, but it would be foolish to equate kindness with weakness as many rogue blood drinkers have discovered to their regret.

The Eastern domain consists of the majority of Rotherhithe minus its western most parishes and this vast domain belongs to Davy Jones the Brujah. Captain Jones is a touch more predatory then his Nosferatu ally and those caught hunting in his domain without permission can expect a sound thrashing and those who fail to take the hint can expect to be beaten into torpor and placed aboard a random outbound ship. Davy Jones has very strong control over the waterfront and areas of ship building, but his influence in other mortal affairs is slight.

The central area between East and West is the domain of Ciar Redd also known as the Taxidermist. Outside the Trio little is known of the Taxidermist's bloodline although he or she is rumored to be a Malkavian. By far, Ciar Redd has the most infamous reputation for dealing with mortal or vampiric interlopers into its affairs for those individuals are rarely seen again. Predictably the Taxidermist has great influence over the Tanning industry and it is in the areas central to the leatherworking trade that traces of the Taxidermist influence can be detected.
