Paris

The Caitiffs, known in Paris as the Bâtards, are accepted, in a stark contrast to Berlin's policies against those poor wretches. But the clan-less soon learn that this position can be, sometimes more deadly than in the capital of unified Germany. The Bâtards are constantly reminded of their lowly position, and how the Toreador are generous to let them live in the fringes of the Parisian suburbs. Used beyond endurance as pawns and as goats, few Bâtards survive longer than few years, as Ivan seems to have a personal grudge against them, and as no one will miss another disappearing Caitiff...

But natural selection made its choice, and the surviving Bâtard soon become too tough to be considered as fair game by the Neonates and Ancillae. Dangerous, secretly feared while openly shunned, these Kindred still have to cope with the now interested Elder, that see in them powerful (and disposable), if somewhat dangerous, tools...

Thus, while some of them accept to serve a powerful Elder, most Bâtards hide among the Anarchs, thus increasing their numbers under the same banner... Recently, some Bâtards had disappeared in strange conditions. The Anarchs are investigating...

The Bâtards will suffer from the paranoia of the nights of 1998. As harbingers of Gehenna, some Elders will ask the right to destroy every one of them. With each week, the situation will become more and more dire. Even those among the Anarchs will see part of their friends abandoning them. The choice will seem to be easy, and the fact of a lot of them joining the Panders (and so, the Sabbat) will only make the things harder for the others. strangely, Ivan will work with less enthusiasm that some thought he would...

But news of Caitiff coteries banding together for protection and hunting the ones that had used them beyond endurance will reach the ears of the remaining Parisian Caitiff...

The Bâtards of Paris

Parisian Caitiff are accepted in Paris, as they are quite good aims when it comes to harass someone, either by Esprit or even through violence. Still, most will find it difficult to raise their Status to 2, and almost impossible to maintain a status of 3 or more.

The status of Caitiff are biased, too. In addition to the limitations above, the Caitiff suffer from a malus of one in her status. So a Caitiff with a status ** will be treated as a Status *.

The Anarch Bâtards

They needed some form of protection, and they saw the Camarilla as oppressive because under its unwritten laws, they had not even the right to unlife. So they joined the Anarchs.

The Camarilla Bâtards

For one reason or another, they remained in the Camarilla structure. Alone and without protection, their only chance is their personal power. Those with survive. Those without disappear.

  • -- Criaâr -- 8th Generation {??? the Corax-Vampire ???}.
  • -- Daniel -- 14th Generation (deceased).

The Lone Bâtard

They have still to chose their side, because of ignorance or indecisiveness.

Caitiff & Rules

Outcasts: Book of Pariahs extended greatly the possibilities of the Caitiffs. But some questions remained without answers. You will find additional rules about Creating and Learning Disciplines here [1]. These are interesting...but he says they are not play tested.
