History: Lydie spent her youth as a poor farmer's daughter in the small town of Moustiers-Saint-Marie in southern France. Her father wanted a son and made that apparent to his is daughter. She grew up doing a mans work in a century when there was a clear difference in the sexes. That is until her mother died and his female companionship was gone.
